Finally decided to check out my blogs again for the sake of reviewing what I've had to say before in the past.
Ever since my last post, My last show that I actually filmed was on May 7th, 2013. I filmed Nonexistant one last time in Toronto, (Though first time filming in Toronto at all), then I left school after falling behind my second year at Loyalist because of the fact I was so interested in doing this.
After I left school, I went to visit my dad in Toronto for the summer. I had talked with Rob Tosh who owns Garage Studios in Toronto Ontario and wanted to do what I was doing with Provisional but on a bigger scale, bands paying us to come on and perform live straight to the net. Not all the bands were into the idea but I still think it has potential.

A week later, I end up responding to a link on Mandy.com looking for DOP's so I go into be interviewed by a small up and coming production company called Shattered Bricks Productions who was wanting to film a movie that summer. I ended up getting hired on as a second Camera Assistant, then my overall credit was Production Assistant, thought I got to be an extra in the film 4 times.

After that, filmed another cousins wedding, mounted some Go Pros on some 4-wheelers, got some great footage that I want to try and top this year for an awesome montage video. There are plans to get as much crazy Go Pro footage to make a montage video featuring extreme and fun times in or around cottage country.
Finally, I haven't actually been able to edit my footage that I previously got of filming bands while I was at school, so I managed to message some editors, one of which got my footage and sent me a edited video of a multi-cam performance by Inhale Marie and it looked awesome. So now i am trying to get back to Toronto where my equipment is to give that footage to more editors, while I am trying to learn the processes of registering my business, receive funding and make a living doing what I love, filming awesome things!

May 2013 Update.
I can't believe it's almost been a year since I started this, in almost 5 months it will have been a year since I filmed my first band which has put me on the path that I am currently at today.
Have continued to be busy working on Provisional, got 2 G Pros that I film with, If the bands pay $25 I set up the Go Pros on the guitar and by the drums and then film with my Handicam. Only have 1 multicam edit complete from January 25th and have several more filmed that still need work, becoming too much for me to handle on my own so am currently looking for editors and other camera people to help me out.
I've also made my first music video with the band One Day To Live for their song Who I Am. using my 3 cameras I filmed them jamming to the song multiple times as well as using footage of them performing it live. Compiled it all together and now have filmed, directed and edited my first music video which still seems surreal to me. I have several other bands wanting to do one, actually have a meeting with a singer tomorrow about doing one with his band.
One of the reasons I got into this as well was the opportunity to travel to new places, so far have filmed in 4 different places in Belleville (Also a basement so technically 5), once in Trenton, twice in Kingston and once in Toronto. I love experiencing new music as well as seeing new places and meeting more new people.
I also pitched my business to the Bull Pen in late February (Local business owners), out of 3 businesses my presentation impressed them the most with my enthusiasm towards the work that I do, the ideas on where I can take it and the knowledge I currently have about my work. They agreed to help me out with networking and sources for funding which is going to come in handy to expand.
So I'm starting to make some money, meeting more and more bands, videos are improving and I'm still having fun. Will update this again whenever possible, hopefully will have even more to talk about.
Also here is the link to the Provisional Productions promo that I made for the Bull Pen pitch that caught their attention. Enjoy.

December 2012 Update
Wow, the last couple of months have been nuts! I am currently out in Belleville attending school at Loyalist for my second year and right away got to promoting myself for Provisional. I met some new friends and one of them told me of his friend who interviews and promotes local music, so I got to know her and shes set me up with a couple of shows to film.
I started going to some of these shows and then started talking with the bands and they really wanted to see the footage that I'd filmed, also they started inviting me to their shows to catch their live performances. So what happens is I go to a show, film the entire set, talk with the bands, I upload the footage to Youtube and link it to my Provisional Facebook page, then add the bands on Facebook and just send the links around. So mainly have been doing a lot of networking and promoting, but its a lot of hard work and its starting to pay off. (Checked the stats on my Provisional Facebook page and its reaching people from around the world! 636 reached as of now.)
I've been filming the performances for free, but now that I've been meeting people from these bands, I got up coming projects that will make a little bit of cash. Two bands want motion graphics playing behind them while they play live, 2 bands want me to do a music video for them, as well as other non music projects on the go. Money aside, I'm having a great time and meeting new and interesting people.
Although, What I do need now is some serious cash in order to invest in this to make it look more viewable and enjoyable for an audience. People are watching and I want to give them the best damn experience they can take away from viewing these musicians as well as what ever else I plan on making in the future.

Music Group Needing Promotion?
If you are a band starting out, looking for a chance to make a video, contact Provisional Productions. We'll collaborate on making a simple video that people can view your group and want to see and hear more. Prices for a music video at the time could be around $50 minimal but if more work is needed on time, editing and advertising then more around $100. Prices can be negotiated once we discuss what needs to be done.
Also my cousin is having a wedding on Saturday and I asked her if she was alright with me filming and taking pictures for it in which she agreed, lucky for her I'm doing it for free just because I'm only starting out and want to add to my profile. I know at the start of any sort of business, you need to work for free sometimes in order to get reoccuring customers, and I assume once I've done this a few times and have added them to Youtube, Facebook, Blogger and whatever for people to see, I'll hopefully be seeing more, serious bussiness.
So if you need a wedding filmed or if you want to find ways to promote your musical group, contact Provisional Productions here on Blogger or on Facebook.
